My 3rd visit to Birmingham in 1995 after attending the 2 shows earlier in November 1995.

While watching Alanis Morrisette Zac Alford came into the crowd [He said to watch a fellow Canadian] just where I was standing with my mate who started talking to him while I had the mic hanging from my neck ready to record Bowie LOL.
We were standing right underneath a sound stack hanging from the rafters hence excellent sound quality.
As the show starts my mate says 'its not gonna be a normal show' he noticed the mic in the middle of the stage and so he was right as Bowie started with 'Look Back in Anger' great show.

Notes:
JEMS master recording. Excellent sounding recording capturing Bowie touring in support of his Outside album. This was probably the peak of his electronica phase and features Nine Inch Nails on the first five tracks with Bowie trading vocals with Trent Reznor on the NIN classic Hurt along with electronica inspired reworkings of Bowie classics like Andy Warhol and The Man Who Sold The World. This show also features the only performance of Thru' These Architects Eyes on this tour.

Transfer January 2016
Not a bad recording of what looks like an uncirculated show.  There are a multitude of reasons why this show was never transferred over 20 years ago.  For one, in the pre addicted to internet days, I was unaware how the band transision was to be handled so I missed  Subterraneans.  My friend and I tried to watch NIN, but my seats were really close to the stacks and we could not handle the volume, and frankly their music did nothing for us.  While sitting around the concession stands I suddenly hear a familiar melody, and I turn to my friend and say, "We have to get to our seats now."  I frantically work to get my gear going.  There are sound fluctuations, volume fluctuations, digital artifacts as the old D7 needed some work and had yet to receive it.  While the instrumentation is clear, David's vocals could be more up front.  The 959A was/is a great microphone, it just wasn't built for stealth recording.  I'm not sure how I had it situated, but less than a month later I was using the "taped sticking out of a modified shirt pocket", at a Dylan show, so I'm sure some variation of that was used.  I do remember moving even closer than I was initially late in the show.  The other memory I have of the show was that about 75% of the audience left after they realized NIN was finished.  How many of those people now tell their friends they saw Bowie?  This was David's last show in Dallas, hence the title.  I guess after a decade of Dallas stops that resulted in a false rape/AIDS charge, playing to 500 people with Tin Machine, and seeing the majority of your audience flee like rats off a sinking ship, he said the hell with us.  Can't blame him.  This transfer includes every sound recorded that night.  Tracks done on the fly so they are not perfect.  Enjoy.

Processing details:
Deleted gaps between all tracks. There were also many tracks that had 2 gaps between them. The gaps themself were a little hard to delete, since it was not pure silence, but also some noise on each side.

It was quite difficult to clean the whole mess up, and therefore it is listenable in a few places where the gaps were, especially if you listen for them.

The sound is not good at all, but probably the master would be better if someone outs there have it.

I have compared this concert to all Outside shows with the same setlist, and I can hear that this is different than all other shows from the tour when comparing the presentation of Reeves Gabrels after "The Voyeur".

comments:
this tape has seen some circulation for awhile
unfortunately this source and any copies of it were a little slow
so I just thought it wasn't a very good night for the band
or a bad recording. actually turns out it just needed
a little pitch adjusting. it's not a bad recording at all,
all the instruments and vocals come through well throughout,
very little if any obstruction between the mikes and the speakers,
not much crowd noise (though it is obviously an audience recording)
and it was actually a pretty good night for the band in Ohio.
it sounds alot better at the right speed (or at least alot closer)
the 1st song appears to be missing, the recording goes through from
subterraneans to the end of voyeur, picks up before outside without
any music missing, and runs through most of "I'm Deranged" before it cuts
there for a tape change. it resumes just before the band intoductions
so probably about 2 minutes of track 18 is missing here.
everything other than that and the beginning of the show seems to be included.
not sure how much is missing in the beginning, but probably just a few minutes.
the recording is pretty clean, except a couple of very brief distorted
moments from loud vocals in "oxford town"
(even though that's one of the quieter songs in the whole show)
not the recording, or copy, or digitized files were over-recorded at all.
it just sounds it in a couple of places, for just a split second,
one about 3:07 and another about 4:10 into that one song.
overall, this performance and recording are quite enjoyable.
yes, they really do play spaceboy twice.
many of these 1995 Bowie/ NIN sets have an opening NIN set for awhile
(before Bowie joins them) but apparently this one doesn't,
according to etree.

NEW: David Bowie live in Burgettstown 1995 - 2CD - September 23

David Bowie
Starlake Amphitheatre
Burgettstown, PA
September 23, 1995

Description: Received this in a trade shortly after the show, so it's likely super low gen.  This is a very nice recording, the only thing bad about it is a bit of distortion on the super high end, but it's not very noticeable and doesn't detract from what is otherwise just a super recording.  I haven't seen this one circulating too much so it may be new to some of you. If you collect Outside Tour shows you'll want to add this one to the collection. From the Blackout archives.  Enjoy!

What can I say about this disc other than if you are a Bowie fan then this is a really nice release indeed.

It is a direct copy of a double silver disc set I have entitled "Sound And Vision", which was recorded live at Rotterdam, Sport Paleis Ahoy 30.03.90.

It is on the POP TUNES Record label Cat No PT 316, and I bought it many moons ago at a UK record Fair and it cost me £25
(the price tag is still on the cd case).

This is what Bassman has to say about this recording:

"COMMENTS: This is the CD issue of the LP SOUND + VISION (1991).
The sound quality is excellent, just like the show itself!
This CD is said to be rather limited, but I have no idea of how many copies that were released?
The flyer has the same pictures as on the cover. A very nice CD!"

The address on the above mentioned flyer of "Pop tunes" is Rue De Cap, D'Antibes23 - 75019 Paris France.  Furthermore it says the
cd was/is "Made In France"

The sound as Bassman says is excellent and to be honest it is really good.
I'm not sure if it's a radio broadcast, a soundboard recording or just an exceptionally good audience recording
it is so very hard to tell. But I would rate the sound at a very solid 8/10.

Furthermore it catches Bowie on his "farewell tour" in 1990, before forming "Tin machine".

The setlist is basically a greatest hits setlist, and I can never understand to this day, why an official release from this tour has never been released, as some of the shows were recorded.

NEW: David Bowie live in Dallas 1987 - 2CD - October 10

David Bowie
Reunion Arena
Dallas, Texas
October 10, 1987
Recorded, transferred and uploaded by mjk5510 (November 2012)

Presenting Night One in Dallas, Texas of The Glass Spider Tour, the supernova of a concert that would eventually crush Bowie under the weight of the overblown and confining theatrics and drive him to downsize to the intimacy of Tin Machine.
Numerous tragedies followed the tour during the European leg, from a lighting engineer falling to his death, a riot in Milan by fans kept out of the venue and a fan drowning while trying to enter the Slane Castle show by swimming the River Boyne in the backstage area.
Moving from the large outdoor stadiums in Europe to the smaller arenas in the States helped with some of the technical difficulties that tend to plague a large production like this.  The Glass Spider dialogue had been replaced by a pre-recorded dialogue that Bowie mimed to as he descended from the top of the set.  However, both Carlos Alomar and Peter Frampton continued to complain about the dancers continually pushing them upstage and interfering with their effects.  Egos also flared throughout the tour, Carlos Alomar apparently asked to start off the show with an extended guitar solo to "prove" his equal to Bowie's friend Peter Frampton, or so the story goes.  Listening to the playback of this show the solo still seems as much out of place now as it did then.  A critical part of Bowie's early 80's sound, once Frampton came on board he stated a few years later,  ÒOn that tour I was tired of being the sideman. I wanted my place. Give me a bone, Jesus!Ó
The tour rolled into Dallas from Houston on October 9th for the 41st and 42nd show of the North American leg of the tour.
On October 9th Bowie spent the night in a Dallas hotel room with a 30 year old woman who would later accuse him of sexual assault "in a dracula like way". Bowie conceded he spent the night with the woman but denied the accusations he sexually assaulted her, a grand jury declined to indict Bowie on November 18th.  Two years later a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit the woman had brought against him.
October 10th was the first night of a two night stand in Dallas, I was not able to tape the second night as I did not live in Dallas at the time but I offer here the first night for the very first time directly from my master tapes.
Even though these theater productions left a lot to be desired it did set the stage for many grand theater type rock concerts to come and at most shows the musicians performances were solid, even being inspired at times.
Frampton seemed to add some life to what might have been, by this time, a going through the paces show confined to a set in stone set list due to the choreography involved.
Also due to the theatrical production there were limitations to the sound system.  The show never seemed to have the sound "punch" of a normal rock concert.
I also noticed after transfer a lot of beginnings of songs seemed to be lower volume than the rest of the song, I've smoothed these instances out.
Per dime rules I've excluded the Kronos Quartets version of Purple Haze played over the PA as the players got into position.
One final note, I had backstage passes to meet Bowie before the show, there were about 6 of us backstage and we were told in no uncertain terms there would be no autographs, no pictures and any additional interaction after the initial introduction would be initiated by Mr. Bowie.  I don't have much memory of it except that he was pleasant enough, it was short and sweet, and with an "enjoy the show" he was gone.
